In January 28, 2022 the Office of District Planning posted two concurrent proposals.  In one proposal is The Proposed Re-siting of Samara Community School (12X458) from Building X050 to New Building X320 Beginning in the 2022-2023 School Year. The other proposal is The Proposed Partial Re-siting of P186X@X140 (75X186), One Site of Existing District 75 School P.S. X186 Walter J. Damrosch School, from Building X140 to Building X050 and Co-Location with Fairmont Neighborhood School (12X314) Beginning in the 2022-2023 School Year.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the Joint Public Hearing (JPH) for these proposals will not be held in-person, and will instead be held via teleconference on February 28 at 6 p.m. at https://learndoe.org/districtplanning/. The attached notices have information on how to access the JPH via teleconference and dial-in.

Thank you for your flexibility in scheduling this hearing and for all your help in this process. Attached to this email, please find the following documents:

  1. An Educational Impact Statement (EIS) describing the details of each proposal;
  2. Customized parent letters for your schools; and
  3. Notice of the JPH.

Following your receipt of these items, I request that you take the following action steps regarding the distribution of these materials. 

Principals, can you please help us in completing the following steps by Monday, January 31:

Forward this email to your SLT and make hard copies of the EIS and JPH Notice available in the main office;

Backpack home the attached JPH notice and parent letter to families;

Email the attached JPH notice and parent letter to families; and Post this information on your school's website and/or social media platforms.

I will be in touch with translated documents in Spanish as soon as we have them. Please reply all to this email to confirm the actions outlined above have taken place. In order to provide parents and community members with as much advance notice as possible, please have documents available in your main office and email your SLT by end of day today, January 28.
